Don't be a sheep...one thing that has been bothering me about Instagram

This is something I have been meaning to write about for a while, but I have only just gotten around to it. I was reminded of it during a new client call, which gave me the confidence and belief that I’m not the only one who thinks this.

Just because someone says that one way is the best way, it doesn’t mean that you have to do it.

In the words of my dance teacher, 'don’t be a sheep'.

At the moment reels are the ‘in’ thing for Instagram. I see well known Coaches and Strategists talking about how reels are basically the only way to improve your Instagram engagement. You know what, they may have great engagement levels, they may increase your brand awareness tenfold, they may lead to more followers and potential clients - however if they are not your thing, then do not do it. If they don’t align with your company or personal values, then don’t do it!

Just because someone says that you should - doesn’t mean that you have to.

See, it is possible that your reels will result in your page having more views and potential client calls but these potential clients are not getting the true version of you. They are not experiencing an authentic version of you, and that is all potential clients want to see.

I personally don’t plan on doing any reels - I find them too cheesy! My dancing around the house is reserved for my family and friends. I am not judging anyone who does them - of course - but I know that when I first started my business I would have been swayed and influenced into doing something that wasn’t right for my business because I was so desperate to succeed.

So, if it isn’t for you, then don’t do it. Stay true to you.

It’s business at the end of the day - you don’t need to follow the crowd.
